… MY CALL FROM THE WILDERNESS TO YOU ON DEMOCRACY DAY IN NIGERIA!

By Nnabugwu Chizoba

The story was told of an old Mule, who accidentally fell into a farmer’s well.

For your information a Mule is the offspring of a Male Donkey (jack) and a Female horse (a mare). Note that Horses and Donkeys are of different species. From available records, a horse has 64 chromosomes, and a donkey has 62. The Mule ends up with 63. Mules can be male or female, but because of the odd number of chromosomes, they can’t reproduce.

...THE EFFORTS OF OUR HEROES PAST SHALL NEVER BE IN VAIN! CELEBRATE A GREAT ENTREPRENEUR!

THE HISTORY OF 'MAMMY MARKETS'
It was in 1959. Mammy Ode, a young girl from Jericho-Ugboju in the present Otukpo Local Government Area of Benue State was married to Anthony Aboki Ochefu, a young Non-Commissioned military officer who had just been posted to Enugu from Abeokuta. They were quartered at the Army Barracks, Abakpa, Enugu.

To beat idleness and perhaps earn some money to support her young family, Mrs. Mammy Ochefu established a soft drinks business. She prepared gruel, which is called umu or enyi in Idoma, or kunu in Hausa, for sale to soldiers. She soon became popular with her stuff as soldiers trooped to her house to buy enyi. Some of her best customers were officers, who always sent their batmen to buy some of the gruel for them, Monday through Friday.

THIS WEEK END STORY "HE MERELY NEEDED SHELTER, WHILE IT WAS RAINING."...A MUST READ

"Late in 1994, an 87 year old man passed on in a village close to Amai, Kwale, Delta State. The late man's grandson, Ufiaka (26 years old and fairly educated), was given some money and asked to travel to Agbor to buy a fine casket for his grand pa's burial. Ufiaka left base early and arrived Agbor in good time to purchase the casket and make the return journey same day.
