LESSONS FROM THE GAMES OF THE ST. PIRANS YOUTH WEEK PICNIC 2020

Dear friends, you will recall that the last two posts on this Platform, were centered on reports from two interesting, mind tasking games from the St. Pirans Youth Week 2020. Before signing off, from the last post, I implored you to ponder over each of the last two posts/games and share the lessons you learnt from them on this Platform, so that others can learn from them.

ST. PIRANS YOUTH WEEK PICNIC 2020: TREASURE HUNT AND CHALLENGE OF TEAMWORK

Before the great search began

Dear friends, recall that in the previous post we discussed the mind tasking miming game: the charade which according to the Cambridge Advanced Learners Dictionary means:

"A team game in which each member tries to communicate to the others a particular word or phrase that they have been given, by expressing each syllable or word using silent actions"

I had enjoined you to take a little break, ponder and send the lessons you learnt from the write-up. In this post, I wish to share with us the treasure hunt game. Please read and send in lessons learnt from it.

In case you didn’t read the last post, please click this link to access it http://onesquarebell.blogspot.com/2020/09/st-pirans-youth-week-2020-and-mind.html and as always send in the lessons learnt.

ST. PIRANS YOUTH WEEK PICNIC 2020: THE MIND TASKING GAME, THE CHARADE

Dear kingdom-minded, success-driven teens and kids, recall that last time we talked about using the forced COVID 19, pandemic break, to learn new skills, identify and develop other talents of ours. One of the things specifically mentioned include developing your writing skills.

In that post, I pointed out clearly that my purpose of asking you to write is not necessarily to make a writers out of you, but that developing the habit of writing will enable you to document your ideas, thoughts and experiences, for future references. Let me also add here another benefit I believe you will get from developing your writing skill. It will help to capture and document events that happen around you, for future referencing also. Such events are anniversaries, travels, and special discussions, like those with the elderly, e.g. Grandpas and Grandmas. Others are school activities, like Saturday Activities, for those in   St Paul’s Academy Jos (SPAJ), Speech and Price, and other events.

BEFORE THE COVID BREAK IS OVER

The Anchor

Dear kingdom-minded, success-driven teens and kids, you would have noticed the break in the activities of the platform for some time now. I know that a lot of you would have been worried concerning it, but the truth is that the break was intentional. I know some of you are asking why?

Let me begin by reminding us of the adage:

“The child that says the soup prepared by the father is not delicious, wants to know why the mother left.”
