WE DON'T INHERIT THE EARTH, WE BORROW IT FROM OUR CHILDREN... Few things to ponder as Nigeria celebrated her children, May 27, 2023

Dearies all over the Globe, it is in the Spirit of the season (Children's Day) in Nigeria that I write this piece. For this reason, I am starting on a very special, indeed fundamental note, saying with a joyful heart, Ndewonuooo! Ekaarooo! Sanunguooo! (greetings in the three major Nigerian languages - Igbo, Yoruba and Hausa respectively. I have over-stretched each greeting for emphasis, in line with and in total submission to the Spirit of celebration.

Dearly beloved Teens and Kids, how are you all doing? Do I have any reason to resign, become doubtful, descend or come down from my highly cherished,  honoured but self-imposed position as your advocate?

I remain as always, the  unflinching, unbending and unshakable believer of the fact that as worthy Teens and Kids, you are aware of the confidence that the public has reposed on you due to the extra responsibilities you're carrying as the undisputed future leaders of the land. I am at rest that you are doing the needful to maintain an amazingly,  outstanding rating, in your different locations in the country.

In the unfortunate event that you, you or you have deviated from the Kingdom track, I beseech thee to please, retrace your steps immediately. Bear in mind the mark you are carrying and whose child you are (God's Child). As many of you, you, you and you that maintain excellent record as light bearers, I urge you to keep moving on the right track.

As part of your 2023 Children's Day celebration I wish to encourage you to arm yourself with the GROW strategy of enhancing your Kingdom activities:

G: Go to Church and Sunday school regularly,

R: Read the Bible and Pray every day,

O: Obey God's Word, as established in the Bible,

W: Witness regularly to other people,

On a continuous basis, please ensure that you are learning more and more about God and Jesus Christ, His only begotten Son. Do this relying on the most wonderful true story in the whole World, the Bible,

At all times remain obedient to your biological Parents, and to other parents too. Obey also the unmarried, and those that married but have no child. Others to respect and obey regularly, include the Grandparents, Great Grand Parents, and elder siblings, neigbours, uncles, aunties and teachers. Also very important in list of those to respect, obey and treat kindly are the House Helps, House boys and girls, domestic servants, whatever name you prefer, and wherever they are. And of course your mates and younger ones are to be respected and treated kindly.

Now to the very dear Nigerian Daddies, Mommies, Uncles and Aunties, May 27th every year is Children's Day, in Nigeria, a day set aside to celebrate the Nigerian child. For this reason, let me refer you to a popular saying:

"Children are the leaders of tomorrow".

On the strength of that saying, let me deposit this my thought here:

To make good leaders out of them (the children), they must be nurtured lovingly, treated and shown without any iota of doubt that they are precious, valueable and needed as well. They need a prove that the constantly chanted, now over used but profound statement "Children are the leaders of tomorrow" is not a mere oxymoron, in Nigeria.

Now that May 27th 2023, has come and gone, I dare to ask the older group of Nigerians, has Nigeria marked the 2023 Children's Day. I call on you, dear  parents, grandpas and grandmas, the uncles and aunties, younger and old, in and/or out of the government cycle; to reflect deep on the Day, and share with the children your feelings about the Day.

Some Countries celebrate their's in November, others in June, and some others in October of each year. What does theirs look like?

And to you, Dear Kingdom minded Teens and Kids, story has it that what is celebrated in the present time as Children's Day, was started many years ago, by a Pastor, Charles Leonard, who originally conducts Church services for children on a particular day. After some time, like all other noble, legendary and Godly inspired Works, on earth, the church service that was started by the Lord's Servant, has like the mustard seed blossomed and culminated into what was widely received and joyfully celebrated in the Globe, remarkably, as the *Children's Day.*
