Canon Abishai Gaiya is a very enthusiastic, warm and ardent lover of his calling as a Priest. The reliable and dependable trailblazer in photography, Canon Abishai is referred to as the large hearted by a section of his constantly growing long list of admirers. Apart from being fearless, he has the honoured ability to carry people along.

In view of the above developments, Canon Abishai Gaiya takes up many responsibilities and surprisingly, does not disappoint. How he is able to do this is surely a case study for the Kingdom minded Teens and Kids. Agreed he is a wonderful planner and near perfect finisher, there is every reason still, to not only think but believe there is something the Canon does differently and that he is very good at that supports the already identified attributes of his beyond good planning. Over to you dearly beloved...
Canon Abishai has the knack for creating opportunities. This stems mostly, I guess from his hunger and very large appetite to help and to impact others positively, helping them to grow progressively, essentially.
In September 2024, Canon Abishai organized a 3-day photography master class training at St. Pirans Anglican Church, Jos, the first of its kin. The photography master class training held in the Church was not only free and timely, but of course rich and designed to impact.
The 3-day Photography master class training organized by the Canon was not limited to the membership of St Pirans Church. As a matter of fact, advertisement for the training was widely publicized through the opportunity offered by the Social Media space. This effort ensured that the training opportunity was extended to many people that desired to acquire or enhance their skills in photography, and that many people indeed benefited from the training.
Yours truly, a number one beneficiary of the photography master class training is openly testifying here that the training was heavily loaded, superbly handled by the trainers and well attended; a master class it was indeed. Canon Abishai and his crew at the training did not only expose participants of the training to the world of photography, they put their Soul into it, and brought to the open hidden opportunities and benefits in the photography business. They laid bare most of the secrets and challenges of the profession, and introduced some of the successful and well established, renowned and celebrated photographers in the industry, locally and internationally, and took extra steps to make sure that some graced the training and took active role as trainers and facilitators.
Among the trainers were two who are based outside the shores of Nigeria - a German-Isrealite residing in Germany and another a Nigerian Pastor residing in the UK. Of the trainers from Nigeria was one of the official photographers to the wife of the former Nigerian President, a young woman. She served as the First Lady's Personal Photographer all through the tenure of Mohammedu Buhari, as the President of Nigeria. Also in the list of trainers at the 3-day photography master class were some other seasoned Photographers in Nigeria.

The beauty and quality of different training sessions and topics covered during the 3-day training were revealed by the testimony of the practicing photographers that swelled the participants list. According to them, their joy had no bounds. Most of them noted that the impact was so huge. As a matter of fact, they lacked words to express their gratefulness to the organiser of the training, Canon Abishai and the other trainers of the 3-day event. In their words "we have indeed learnt a lot from this training. The trainers have exposed us to some new concepts, methods and styles, indeed emerging trends in the industry. As field soldiers, we have strengthened our skills and are prepared to up our game and make our practice better with the new knowledge".
The participants desirous of venturing into photography said the training was a boost to their desire. They confessed that they gained a lot and would have missed so much if they did not attend the training. The training was timely they noted. "Considering the trend of things in the economy, how harsh things are and the need to find something doing, Canon Abishai provided us with an opportunity to update our knowledge, enhance our skill and thrive in life. The Canon and his team of trainers, indeed opened our eyes and minds to opportunities in the field of photography, which previously we had little or no idea of," they said .
At St. Pirans Church, were the Canon served as a Curate from May 1, 2023 to December 31, 2024 before he was posted to serve as the Vicar of St. Timothy's from January 1, 2025, he on many occasions fellowshipped with the youths and teens and also helped them severally whenever his assistance was sought. One of such occasions was to help them to conduct a Bible quiz. Consistently, he shared words of advice, encouragement and support with the teens. His commendations and words of prayers, consistently committing them into the hands of the Almighty Lord in and out of the church and fellowships are noteworthy.
On behalf of the Kingdom minded Teens and Kids of this platform, membership of other platforms and indeed all lovers of teens and kids, I celebrate Canon Abishai Gaiya, and pray for increased grace, strength and wisdom to keep growing in your work as a labourer in Sovereign God's vineyard, and to keep impacting the lives of teens and kids.
