CELEBRATING THE ICON: MISS HAYE OKOH

Welcome friends once again. In our recent posts, we have been celebrating some January born lovers of teens and kids. We started with our fathers. First on the list is, His Royal Highness (HRH) Dan Majen Cham, Eng. Tony J. Nakale. After the celebration of HRH, it was the turn of Rev. Canon Abishai Gaiya, thereafter, we moved to our mummy Pharmacist Mrs. Amaka Anukam.

Today we are celebrating a much younger person, one that is closer in age to the constituents of this Platform, the Kingdom minded Teens and Kids. She too is among our January birthday celebrants. If you like you can add that she is the youngest of the lot and deserving of the honour of an icon and worthy of standing in the midst of the already mentioned and celebrated by our Platform. We can also refer to Miss Haye as the "Last Born" of the group previously celebrated. She is not just an Aunty to the Teens and Kids on the Platform, but also a lover and developer of the teens and kids.

I am very optimistic that you are already very curious and eager to know more about our new icon, born in January and celebrated here in February. Please, journey with me as I unravel the beauty of the puzzle that is magnificently designed and packaged in human form by the maker of all things, the King of Kings.

Friends, join me as I bring on board for your attention and reckoning, the remarkable and inspiring attributes and qualities of our dear Aunty: Miss Hayenichukwu C. Okoh. Let the drums roll, let your hands Jam in applause and let your voices rise in cheers as a mark of celebration for iconic achievers and proven lovers of the Teens and Kings wherever they are.

Miss Haye is a professional documentary photographer, a social impact story teller and life builder. As a photographer, she has made her mark by living indelible footprints and registering her name in the sands of time, having served as the iconic personal photographer to the 15th first lady of Nigeria, Mrs Aisha Muhammadu Buhari. She served the first Lady Aisha Buhari during her husband's tenure in office between 2016 and 2020.

The above feat is appreciated by the reader the more, when he or she realises that Aunty Haye, in 2010, started her journey into photography by simply capturing every moment she could find till she eventually narrowed her interest, commitment and vision down to documentary photography which she has deployed in creditable ways as a tool for driving social change, growth and sustainable impact in her efforts to contribute significantly to human and material development in Nigeria.

It is interesting to note that though she was initially trained with a degree in communications and Multimedia, Miss Haye as she is popularly referred to, blends it so well with her story writing skills and love and uses it to lend a voice to the voiceless and also as a hobby.

It is also worthy to note that, in a bid to help and contribute to the society, she founded AWWAS which stands for A Woman With A Story. AWWAS is a free and safe space she created out of a burning desire to help the vulnerable and voiceless victims of unfortunate circumstances perpetrated by some wicked and evil/bad eggs in the society to allow women and children, especially the vulnerable ones to speak out and to express themselves creatively through words, their writing and storytelling abilities.

Miss Haye as she is fondly called is the lead storyteller at H2H studios limited, another organisation that tells stories to drive societal change and impact. In 2023, she started movie production at sozo films as head of production, and now serves as the chief content officer there.

She is a member of several organisations that tell stories to drive societal change. They include: AWWAS (founded by her/which she founded), H2H studios limited, amongst others.

Still on her exploits and achievements, on November 17th 2024, she had her first ever solo exhibition which was titled "Nbídè Ófùñ" meaning New Beginning in her dialect, Ika dialect of Delta State, Nigeria. The exhibition was a collection of art works embedded with stories about the beauty and strength of mothers and motherhood.

These and many more are some of the wonderful impacts of Aunty Haye.

Please friends join me as we celebrate our very own Aunty with a difference, Aunty Haye Okoh.
