CELEBRATE THE 9As GIRL: OBIDIGBO CHIOMA BLESSING OF ST PAUL'S ACADEMY JOS

Our star Girl: Obidigbo Chioma Blessing

Meet Obidigbo Chioma Blessing, fondly called ‘Miss B’ by friends. She is one of those that just graduated from the Senior Secondary School, and the immediate Past Senior Prefect Girl (IPSPG), St. Paul’s Academy, Jos.

Chioma is a very huge inspiration to all in this Platform. Very intelligent, calm and well behaved, by every standard. Her electric brain (if there is anything like that), notwithstanding, Chioma relates very well with other people, conducts her affairs respectfully, as well as participates effectively in group activities, doing her bit in a manner that dignifies others. She does not see herself different from others.

‘Miss B’ as she is fondly called, was among those that qualified and was to represent her country, Nigeria, in the 2022 Biology Olympiad competition that held recently in July at Amelia. Chioma and others that were supposed to compete for the country, were disappointed, when they could not make it to the competition few days before the event proper. This was due to reasons beyond the control of her nation.

ANOTHER VACATION TIME IS HERE

Hello dear kingdom-minded, success-driven teens and kids. It’s been a while we interacted on this Platform. Fact is, I have missed you all so much. Though I may not exactly point out where you are reading this from, I can assure you that we’re connecting with you deeply in the spirit. Thanks for being part of us on this platform, and for introducing more people to make our engagement more inclusive, expansive and richer in both context and content.

For most of you Teens and Kids in Nigeria, my thinking is you are done with your promotional examination, and some of you are already on vacation. From my location, Jos Plateau state, it is more or less a taboo to go on vacation after the promotional examination without having what we call the “Speech and Prize Giving Day”. This is mostly organized by the private schools.

2021 EASTER: DID YOU TAKE TIME TO EXPLORE NATURE AND EXPERIENCE LEARNING?

Beloved kingdom-minded, success-driven teens and kids, the Easter celebration has come and passed. Of a truth some of you traveled to your place of origin, to partake in the various activities of the season, and for some people to share in the beauty of the African extended family system, as culture demands.

I hope you did not narrow your visits to amusement Parks and other fun events only? This is because visits of this nature affords the opportunity to explore and learn about nature and the culture of your people.

For those, whose Grandparents still live and are in the village, did you draw closer to them? If you did not, pity you. That’s all I can say. Truth be told, I can’t quantify the abundance of knowledge they harbor that you obviously missed. Don’t let anybody deceive you, Grandparents are institutions of sort. Some of them can be likened to a library, and surely they are.

LESSONS FROM THE GAMES OF THE ST. PIRANS YOUTH WEEK PICNIC 2020

Dear friends, you will recall that the last two posts on this Platform, were centered on reports from two interesting, mind tasking games from the St. Pirans Youth Week 2020. Before signing off, from the last post, I implored you to ponder over each of the last two posts/games and share the lessons you learnt from them on this Platform, so that others can learn from them.

ST. PIRANS YOUTH WEEK PICNIC 2020: TREASURE HUNT AND CHALLENGE OF TEAMWORK

Before the great search began

Dear friends, recall that in the previous post we discussed the mind tasking miming game: the charade which according to the Cambridge Advanced Learners Dictionary means:

"A team game in which each member tries to communicate to the others a particular word or phrase that they have been given, by expressing each syllable or word using silent actions"

I had enjoined you to take a little break, ponder and send the lessons you learnt from the write-up. In this post, I wish to share with us the treasure hunt game. Please read and send in lessons learnt from it.

In case you didn’t read the last post, please click this link to access it http://onesquarebell.blogspot.com/2020/09/st-pirans-youth-week-2020-and-mind.html and as always send in the lessons learnt.
