ANGLICAN YOUTHS: THE ST PIRAN’S YOUTH FELLOWSHIP COMING OUT IN A BANG WITH SOMETHING NEW, CAPTIVATING AND MASSIVE… The Youth Secretary

The Secretary St. Piran’s Anglican Church Youth Fellowship, the young Nnabugwu Chinazaekpere, who is also the teens representative of the fellowship, has opened up a little on the soon-to-be unveiled Project of the Group: the Journey, saying:

“At a time most Christian youths are struggling to sort themselves out, find a clear direction in life and remain faithful to their faith, serving diligently as true soldiers of the Almighty Lord; at a time many parents and grandparents are complaining about the unpleasant attitudes of their children and grandchildren, and at a time many of them are giving up, the St. Piran’s Youth Fellowship, also known as SPYFELL has risen to the rescue. SPYFELL in a near radical manner is injecting into the Society something captivating, educating and entertaining, massive, encompassing and highly enriching”.

CHILDREN'S DAY ACTIVITIES: TOOLS FOR ENLIGHTNING AND DEVELOPING CHILDREN

In 1964, May 27th, was set aside as  the Children's Day, in Nigeria. From thaat year, till date, the Nigerian Children are celebrated every year on May 27th. The day is used to draw attention or create awareness about the needs, challenges or problems that children face. The day is also used to commemorate, honour and treasure the greatest gift of the Almighty, the priceless possession on earth, the children.

The day, May 27th every year in Nigeria, in my thinking offers the old breeds, the older generation of Nigerians, a huge opportunity to reflect about their own lives as Children also. This action, which enables the adults of the present to recollect their own days as the little children of yester years, is also capable of creating stronger ties between the generations: young, younger and old.

YES KENNEDY AND PROPHECY ARE NOW ONE: KECY SHAIYEN

Saturday May 27th, 2023 was indeed a great and memorable day in the lives of Mr. Kennedy K. Shaiyen and former Miss Prophecy Yamusa, two heart throbs, who on that day observed with their own eyes, in their lives and in their own event, the reality of the greatest mathematical equation mystery: 1+1=1.

A week after their transmutation from Kennedy and Prophecy to KECY Shaiyen, the couple reveals the incident was real. The transmutation was so amazing that when it occurred, Kennedy and Prophecy in the midst of the large congregation that gathered to witness the mystery, could only but succumb totally to the divine encounter with the roots strongly and deeply-seated in the most wonderful true story in the whole World, the Holy book, the Bible.

CHILDREN'S DAY CELEBRATION ACTIVITIES: THE BENEFITS TO THE CHILDREN

In 1964, May 27th, was set aside as  Children's Day, in Nigeria. From that year, till date, Nigerian Children are celebrated every year on May 27th. The day is used to draw attention or create awareness about the needs, challenges and problems that children face, and to commemorate, honour and treasure the Almighty's greatest gift, the priceless possession on earth, the children.

The day no doubt, also offers a huge opportunity for the older generation of Nigerians, to reflect into their lives. This singular act of the older citizens, enables them to recollect their days as the little children of their own time.

CHILDREN'S DAY CELEBRATION: THE ST PIRANS CHURCH EXAMPLE

In my previous publication I noted very clearly that May 27th of each year is Children's Day in Nigeria. As Kingdom minded teens and kids, I wish to share with us as a mark of appreciation the efforts of St. Pirans Anglican Church, Jos, Plateau State in celebrating her Children, during the Children's Day celebration.

I will through this present publication share with you how the Church, the St. Pirans Anglican Church, Jos, celebrates the Children's Day by ensuring that the original concept of the day is not loss but retained in the Church and in the life of her numerous Children. The Church has as an Institution firmly rooted to promote the ideals of the Christian Faith in every ramifications, continuously through the Children's Day celebration activities shown in character and principles that St Pirans Church on the Plateau, is a place for the Children.

WE DON'T INHERIT THE EARTH, WE BORROW IT FROM OUR CHILDREN... Few things to ponder as Nigeria celebrated her children, May 27, 2023

Dearies all over the Globe, it is in the Spirit of the season (Children's Day) in Nigeria that I write this piece. For this reason, I am starting on a very special, indeed fundamental note, saying with a joyful heart, Ndewonuooo! Ekaarooo! Sanunguooo! (greetings in the three major Nigerian languages - Igbo, Yoruba and Hausa respectively. I have over-stretched each greeting for emphasis, in line with and in total submission to the Spirit of celebration.

Dearly beloved Teens and Kids, how are you all doing? Do I have any reason to resign, become doubtful, descend or come down from my highly cherished,  honoured but self-imposed position as your advocate?

ALLEGED SUICIDE BY A TEEN, A WAKE UP CALL FOR THE KINGDOM-MINDED, SUCCESS-DRIVEN TEENS AND KIDS

Whatever it is that you have for the teens and kids, ensure they are Kingdom minded. With this, they are fortified to withstand any shock. Equip them thereafter with any other skills and  capacity you want, they are good to go.

In a previous publication posted on this Platform, I raised the issue of alleged suicide by a Nigerian teenager, an incident that was widely reported in the media, especially, the new or social media. According to the reports, the alleged suicide was the aftermath of the February 25th, 2023, Presidential Election, conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Going by reports, the alleged incident occurred after the result of the Election was announced and winner declared by the INEC. Please note that this Platform, and the growing list of the Kingdom minded, success driven teens and kids, are focused on matters of interest to teens and kids. We are not directly or indirectly concerned with the issues of the party that wins and the candidates that will perform or the one that will not. These issues and others like them, are way off the goals and objectives of this Platform.

ABUSE: 4

DJ hummed a song as she washed her hands. She could barely hear herself, the music outside was very loud.

*Bang

DJ heard the bathroom door close. She wasn’t sure if it was the real or her imagination, so she stepped out. Maybe someone else wanted to use the bathroom. There were clearly many guests.

DJ was surprised by who she saw. Mr. Kolade. There he was stood with that same look on his face. His eyes dark with lust with his gaze fixed on her chest and his teeth on his lower lip. DJ became very uncomfortable. She knew she should have carried a shawl along.

‘Good morning Sir,’ she greeted and rushed to walk pass him. She needed to leave.

‘Where are you rushing to?’ He grabbed her right arm and pulled her back. DJ could hear her own heartbeat in her ears. Mr. Kolade carried DJ and placed her on the wet sink. Her fingers immediately became cold, she was anxious.

He planted his lips on her neck and kissed her passionately.

‘Mm’ He breathed and then licked her skin. DJ felt a sensation on her spine. She had never felt this feeling before. She gasped and closed her eyes tightly.

‘What exactly is happening?! Is this man crazy? His family is celebrating the birth of his son and he’s here in the bathroom with his daughter’s best friend.’ DJ’s mind exclaimed as she thought.

Mr. Kolade had a firm grip on her waist. He pressed his torso on her chest and jammed his lips with hers. He tried to force his tongue into her mouth, but she firmly shut her mouth as tightly as she could. The man chuckled. Apparently, he was amused by her actions.

‘Sir…stop!’ Was all DJ was able to say.

‘Stop what?’ His hands slid down her dress.

‘Baba Wale! Baba Wale! You dey here? Dem wan start oo’ People called from outside from the bathroom.

‘I’ll be out in a minute!’ Mr. Kolade yelled looking right into DJ’s eyes.

He looked at the mirror beside DJ and adjusted his cap. DJ watched him walk out of the bathroom. She took several deep breaths and tried her best to fake a smile. She walked out of the bathroom as well, about thirty seconds later.

As soon as DJ stepped out, she met the questioning gazes of Wunmi’s mother and some of the guests.

She walked out too soon!

ALLEGED TEEN'S SUICIDE IN RELATION TO THE 2023 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION: CONCERN FOR ALL THE KINGDOM MINDED TEENS

Immediately after the 2023 Presidential election conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), in Nigeria, I heard the story of a teen that allegedly committed suicide when he heard the result and subsequent declaration of the winner by the INEC.

In addition to the reports I read, and the fact that most of the people that spoke said the incident was unfortunate, yours truly, on-behalf of herself, your darling Platform, and all the Kingdom minded, success driven teens and Kids, in and outside this Platform, is lending her voice, to the obviously growing list of contributors to the issue.

On the strength of the above, let me on your behalf begin by saying not again, and consequent upon this state that the alleged incident is widely and out rightly condemned by all the Kingdom minded teens and kids. Please lend your voice too.

Having said that, let me use this opportunity to draw the attention of all Kingdom minded, success driven teens and kids in out of this Platform that the alleged suicide incident is a strong reminder to all of us, individually and collectively that there is so much work on our hands. There is a lot of work to do.

We should not make the mistake of thinking we cannot do anything because:

  • I don't know the person involved
  • This is my first time of hearing it
  • It is only one incident, and the number of people affected is very small

It is my believe that the incident shouldn't have happened, as we say in Nigeria, at all, at all.

Permit me to pause here, and enquire from you, my dear teens and kids, what the Holy Book, the Bible says, concerning the main focus of this discussion.

In your response, please remember to tell the house the following:

  • The major focus of this discussion
  • The Bible reference(s), stating the: Chapter(s) and verse(s) and they say concerning the main focus of our discussion in this piece

I remain yours truly,

Nnabugwu Chinazaekpere

Till I come your way next time, stay happy

She walked downstairs taking a step at a time. She did a quick survey, she was the only one wearing a French dress. As a matter of fact, she was the only one who wasn’t wearing a cultural attire.

‘Thank God Wunmi didn’t listen to me,’ DJ thought to herself. She walked back to Wunmi’s room. She opened the door.

‘Did you and your friend get into a fight?’ Mrs. Anthony asked daughter in frustration. She couldn’t understand why her daughter insisted on not following Omawunmi home. The whole thing was her idea in the first place.

‘I’m asking you!’ She said when she got no response from DJ.

‘No.’ DJ finally said as her shoulders fell and her eyes fixed on the ground.

‘No? Why then?’

‘Nothing.’ Dubem mumbled.

Dubem Anthony Jr. (DJ) was still waiting on her best friend, Omawunmi Kolade’s dad. Since her dad had decided to be absent from her life and her mum was usually busy with work, Wunmi’s dad would pick them up from school. Surprisingly, her very strict mum was okay with it.

Sooner than fifteen minutes later, Mr. Kolade was in the school parking lot.

‘Oya Hurry up! I have a meeting by 7 this evening. I want to get some rest before then.’ He said looking at his shiny wristwatch. It looked expensive and it probably was.

‘Good afternoon Daddy,’ Wunmi hugged her father in the front seat.
